Mishka: Talk About
I first heard Mishka last year from his "Above the Bones" album (which is also an amazing album, check it out if you have a chance) and ever since he has been my favourite reggae-pop musician. Most of his music is about peace, love and happiness. Nice.
Mishka himself is half Bermudan and half Canadian (his mother was from Nova Scotia) and he spent his childhood sailing around the Caribbean in a yacht. Lucky, lucky guy. He's also a champion windsurfer and hangs around with Matthew McConaughey and Willie Nelson.
It's really a beautiful album though. A beautiful album from a beautiful guy who lives in a beautiful place and transcribes beautiful thoughts into beautiful music. That's a good thing. His style is a more poppy kind of reggae, with a little bit of a folk feel to it. It really works well for him and it's a real pleasure to listen to. Lord I need a spliff.
AMENDMENT: IT HAS COME TO MY ATTENTION THAT THIS IS NOT REGGAE MUSIC. REGGAE IS:
